IP Team Announced

The team to represent the Waikato-Bays region at the InterProvincials to be held in November at Christchurch is:

NOVICE PAIRS AT THE 2015 NATIONAL CONGRESS

A special one-session event, the Novice Pairs, is to be held at the 2015 National Bridge Congress at The Kingsgate Hotel, Te Rapa, Hamilton starting at 2pm on Sunday September 27th. The cost will be $10.00 per player.

This excellent initiative aims to give new players a flavour for tournament bridge and show them what the National Congress is like. The Novice Pairs will be played in the main playing room at the same time as the New Zealand Pairs and Restricted Pairs are being played. There will be prizes and finger-food after play for those in the Novice Pairs.

The definition of a Novice is contained on the attached poster. Pre-entry is not required but would be appreciated.

First Round of Bay Pairs a Success for Whakatane

It was a great turn out for the first round of the Bay Pairs; great to see a lot of new faces as well as the regulars.

Well done to the winners on the day Kathy Yule and Kate Terry.

Top Junior pair on the day was Leonie Pritchard and Mark Bendall.

The best Intermediates were Cecily Munro pairing with Gloria Hawthorne who took out sixth place. Gloria - loved your bright red top!

Now here's something you CAN try at home ...

Ever wondered how you might have played or defended a hand better? Of course you have - everyone does. Well ... here's a cool tool to show you what ground you lose or gain whenever you do anything.
