Whilst on this website do take some time to look at the other modules presented: Cashless Bridge, National Gradings, CompassVirtual have all been major development projects which, along with the special features mentioned, make Compass so much more than just another scoring system. Compass runs X-Clubs with its dynamic ratings system that is used by Compass clubs to apply handicaps tailored for any session. Since 2015 it has scored the National Simultaneous Pairs with over 1000 pairs in pre-Covid years. It used to take up to week when results had to be manually input to a scoring program but this event could (and was in 2024) be wrapped up in 90 minutes if all clubs could get their files in smoothly at the end of play.

In late 2024 the Waikato-Bays Regional Committee asked Mike Neels of Cambridge to run a Zoom session on end-of-year procedures. There is always concern about any once-a-year task and tremendous interest for the first session. Two Zoom sessions were recorded and made available to users on the front page of this site. However, the brevity and quality of the recordings prompted Mike to re-record in smaller chunks without an audience. The WBRC also started a WhatsApp group for Compass users and an email list of clubs and individuals to keep all informed.

While National Director Allan Joseph was in the area to direct the Spa Town Teams it seemed a good thing to have a Scorers and Directors Forum at Rotorua on 8-June 2025. Mike was asked do a live Compass presentation but it slowly dawned on him that the field of topics was VAST and there would be a lot of out-of-area interest. Accordingly he has cobbled together a number of short Zoom videos on various topics and attached some documents on a warts-and-all basis in the hope that some may find something useful in them.
