WAP Reports for 2025

WAP3 16 tables at Cambridge - generous hospitality from the host club, able directing by Pam Moore and a good atmosphere all round. Outstanding performances on the day include Sue and Steve who not only were the best non-open pair but also came second overall - they were consistently good all day coming third both sessions with 60.4% and 58.59%. And Yuzhong and Gary the overall winners.

Now that 3 heats have been played the Leaderboard is starting to look interesting. Have a look and see where you are.

WAP2 Another full room at Te Aroha - 17 tables again and a great atmosphere. Winners on the day were Rochelle Van Heuven and Tim Rigter from the home club. It's close at the top of the overall but with only two heats played that's not surprising. Things should be clearer after Cambridge - and remember it's the best four results that count and one sub is allowed.

WAP1 The WAPs got off to a great start in Matamata. 17 tables, great atmosphere, good organisation and generous hospitality from the host club. Notable performances on the day were by Lesley Quilty and Noel Grigg from Matamata, who came first in both the morning and afternoon sessions and Ron Baker and Rob Stewart from Thames who not only won the prize for best juniors but also came 5th overall.

The prize fund was boosted by a donation from Irenee Stewart and we were able to give out $260 in prizes as well as gifts for the pair closest to 50%. Not bad for an entry fee of $15! Even more amazing when you realise that $7 of each entry fee goes straight to NZBridge as a masterpoint levy.

Thanks to William our Director, Anne the scorer, the Matamata Club and to all of you who came and made the day such a success.
