Preparing for and Running a Tournament
Scoring a tournament on the day is just the tip of the iceberg. All the real work is done beforehand. In this video we discuss:
- (beginning of season): Roll CCOE and check set-up of all events - 2 sessions? piggybacks?
- (4-5 weeks out): Get poster out - Restricted? Stratified? – prepare lead image and text to hand NZB Administrator to augment NZB listing – open for entry
- (1-2 weeks out): Generate Hands for dealing, acknowledge online payments, start developing Game Plan – samples attached
- (1 week out): Instruct dealer on boards/boxes likely to require – allow plenty
- (3-4 days out): Upload pre-entry from NZB csv – idea of numbers – close off?
- (2-3 days out): Discuss movement options & sections with Director – Section Calculator
- Plans for X, X+1, X-1 tables .. sections/piggybacks
- Seating plan – Stratified Groupings? (nix on ring-fencing Juniors – use piggyback for that)
- (Day before): Run-through in Simulation Mode – 2 sessions – print personal score sheets - add sessions - Prize-giving report or Stratified/Multigrade/Best Non-Open? [Repeat] [Repeat] [Repeat]
- (On the day): Check channels/sections on devices if necessary. Run to plan as per simulation
- Post to website .. do Masterpoints (delete Final .txt for metro)
