Waikato-Bays Grade Trophy Finals

With the Club Teams events from both sides of The Hill behind us we approach the Teams Grade Trophies showdown this Sunday starting 10am at the Cambridge clubrooms. This is a play-off between the top two teams in each of Open, Intermediate, and Junior with two teams from each grade put forward as the best-performed in their respective Club Teams events. Two clubs did extremely well to have representatives in all three grades - long timers Rotorua and the new kids from the South Waikato. Tokoroa and Putaruru entered a combined team and cleaned up large in the Waikato Interclub Teams back on the 4th of July.

These two clubs are joined in the Open section by Hamilton and Tauranga, the Intermediates by Matamata and Tauranga, and the Juniors by Thames and Mount Maunganui. There will be three head-to-head 16-board matches to decide who takes home the trophies in each grade.

As the event is sponsored by Waikato-Bays Region there will be no table money required but it is BYO lunch. Helpers at Cambridge will provide morning tea from 9:30am and the timetable for the day is:
