Ron Klinger Phenomenon Hits Waikato-Bays

Ron KlingerRon and Suzie Klinger’s recent visit in the first week of November was organised by the Waikato-Bays Regional Committee. Karen Martelletti of Tauranga collected Ron and Suzie from their billet in Auckland and conducted them through their itinerary of four clubs in our region. Prior to that, Ron had ran five sessions in the Auckland region – averaging 90 attendees per session. On Thursday morning he and Suzie flew to Wellington to do another two.

Ron & Karen at RotoruaA world-class player, Ron has been a fixture on the Australian team at many top-class international tournaments. No stranger to work, he has written literally hundreds of books and guides on bridge. He and Suzie have been traveling for three months of each of the last 25 years. They regularly run bridge sessions on cruises and week-long bridge retreats at various resorts like Kangaroo and Norfolk Islands, Tangalooma, and other Australian venues. Cambridge put on a shared lunch for 50 attendees, 60 members of the Tauranga club with funny hats settled in for their session with Ron after for the running of the Melbourne Cup, 40 turned up in Rotorua, and 55 shared pizza at Hamilton half way through their lesson. Everyone was very excited to be in the company of such a master and he did not disappoint. Ron's presentations were humorous, entertaining, and informative.
