The Commonwealth Nations' Bridge Championships

Representing New Zealand, a squad of six players including two from Waikato Bays region, Barry Jones and his partner Jenny Millington, members of the Hamilton Bridge Club, will be taking part in the fifth Commonwealth Nations' Bridge Championships. The other members of the team, from Christchurch,include John and Jane Skipper and John Wignall and Kris Wooles. Australia hosts this year’s Championships which will take place at the Gold Coast Convention Centre between the 14th–18th February. All 52 Commonwealth countries were invited to participate, and 20 National teams have accepted with players coming from Bangladesh. Cameroons, Canada,England, Guernsey, India, Isle of Man, Malaysia, New Zealand Nigeria, Pakistan, Scotland, Singapore, South Africa, and Wales; sponsored teams and Australian State teams bring the total to 36.

The first three days will consist of 11 x 14 board matches with the top 8 teams qualifying for the of the matches on BBO!!
