The Novice Tournament was held at Matamata this weekend. It kicked off with some sterling play and great refereeing ....with the ABs trouncing the French...

Yes happily the Matamata club had the rugby on and the timing was perfect with start of play (bridge that is) timed for 15 minutes after the final whistle (rugby that is).

Some of the players even came dressed up for the occasion.

In the end, two consistent sessions from Peter Daffurn and Malcolm Kirkby meant a good win to the two lads from Te Aroha.
