WBRC Urges Clubs Not To Hold Tournaments Under Level 2

During the WBRC meeting on Monday 20 September, the level 2 bridge playing situation was discussed.

Last week a meeting between the clubs seeking clarification / guidelines in addition to the NZB advisories, was also held. The participating clubs were seeking for more direct instructions from NZB in regards to the playing conditions and we are awaiting a response.

To state the WBRC position, we strongly discourage clubs from holding tournaments under level 2 conditions

As we do not want league tournament players to feel pressured into playing at a league event during covid alert level 2, we have decided to withdraw any league event from the competition which may be held during alert level 2.

As we will be level 2 until at least Tuesday 5 October, this means that the Junior League is finished, as the Te Awamutu Junior Pairs will not be included in the 2021 Junior League. The current ladder on the web is the final ladder.

The prize winners will be emailed and will be asked for their bank account numbers, so we can transfer their prizes. Sadly there will be no prize giving as such.

With the NZB Annual Meeting coming up on Friday 24th, the clubs are reminded that in the event they cannot attend the meeting, Rona is happy to vote on your behalf. In that case you need to give her your proxy and let Alister know.
