MEET THE INTERPROVINCIALS - Tony Hacking

Tony has been playing Bridge for many years, he was only 13 years old when he first learned to play when he was required to make a fourth on a rainy summer holiday and his interest, if not his skill, in the game has grown over the years. He was born in Belfast at the end of the war and for a long time lived on various Royal Air Force bases, where card parties, usually Bridge or Canasta, were part of the social life. Over the years he has seen, and enthusiastically embraced, every new system and fad that has been introduced. “They do nothing to improve your play but provide a multitude of excuses for your mistakes”. Tony has an arcane hobby, he collects Ottoman Stamps (1863 to 1923) which he writes articles on. He has recently returned from China and India and last year travelled the Silk Road from Turkey to China. Next is the USA where he hopes to learn the ‘Donald System’ where all mistakes can be blamed on someone else! Best of luck, Tony, I hope you and Pat have an enjoyable and successful tournament.
