Roundup - Week 39

With the dust slowly settling after National Congress in Hamilton our weekly whip around the Region's websites starts with Cambridge who are both gobsmacked and delighted to achieve not just one but TWO national titles after a break of thirty years. Cambridge members won both the Open Restricted events - Pairs and Swiss Pairs.

Congratulations also to the Hamilton club who celebrate their members' involvement in winning all of the following:

  • Youth Teams
  • Novice Pairs
  • Back-to-the-Future Teams
  • Senior Teams
  • Point-a-Board Teams
  • Intermediate Swiss Pairs

It's a wonder there was anything left for anyone else! Well done Hamilton!

Taupo member Garth Robinson enjoyed success by winning the NZ Intermediate Pairs in partnership with Graeme Duhs of the East Coast Bays club.

Tauranga have an interesting snippet on the declaration of NZ's very first World Champions, Michael Cornell and Ashley Bach which came through just last Friday in time to be announced at the Congress prize-giving. That's as well as their impressive list of successes at Congress.
