Herman and Yuzhong Win the WAPs

Herman and Yuzhong (file photo)Thirty Pairs played in the sixth and final round of the Waikato Area Pairs at Hamilton on Sunday 4th August. Winners on the day were Ian and Cynthia Clayton edging Barry Jones and Jenny Millington. Third-placed Herman Yuan played with Jeffrey Chang who was subbing for Yuzhong Chen who was off chasing glory at the North Island Pairs in Wellington (came 17th, apparently). With a 30 point lead in the competition Yuzhong could feel fairly comfortable with being elsewhere. And so it came to pass. Herman and Yuzhong victorious followed at a distance by WAPs co-ordinator Anna Kalma playing with Noel Grigg followed by wine and pizza for all at the end of the WAPs for 2019.
