Dust Settles from the 2018 IP's

Kathy and JoUnder the expert captaincy of CDM Karen Martelletti your Waikato team contesting this year's Inter-Provincials in Auckland did very well this last weekend. Karen reports it was touch and go as to whether they brought home a trophy. Kathy Yule is said to forever blame herself on a board in the last match where she was in 4SX and the opponents gave her a chance to make it ... but she she didn't. She was distraught as beating, as they did, the favourites 16-4 in the last match brought the Women's team to within 2 VPs of taking the trophy. They did so well, as those opponents were all internationals and were the leaders by a long straw going into the final round. Kathy and Jo were top of the Datums. Karen reports that there was a lot of inexperience in the team this year, so all things considered, it was a great outcome in finishing 4th overall by just 2 points.

The Region was granted funds by Southern Trust for the purchase of uniforms - the unofficial vote being that our uniform was the best !!! It was very visible in the room and made it easy for Karen to find her players when she needed to.
