2018 Season Opens

The first major event took place at Thames over the second weekend of January. Although table numbers were down on last year due to the attractions of the Canberra Festival of Bridge it was still a respectable turnout. Canberra had slipped back in the calendar to clash with our Thames event. Richard Solomon was one such attendee and has done a great job of covering the whole event on the NZ Bridge site - you can read about it by clicking here.

Speaking of NZ Bridge it seems that calculation of the 2018 grades and rating points has been sorted along with the invoices to clubs. This is somewhat belated but also understandable with these functions being employed for the first time on the new NZB platform. NZB has given a discount to clubs to make up for any inconvenience and/or variations due to timing of the head count.

And speaking of Canberra - full results may be seen by clicking here and the fortunes of our Youth team at the 2018 Australian Youth Championships by clicking here. In the one-off Test our NZ team of Matt Brown, Andi Boughey, Jeremy Fraser-Hoskin, Jacob Kalma, Zac Yan, and Vincent He had a comprehensive 94-34 loss to their Australian cousins.
